The Restaurant Rustica in the heart of the Bernese Oberland has a wide selection of different dishes. From fish, to meat, to vegetarian – our restaurant in Frutigen leaves nothing to be desired. Why not visit us and see for yourself?
Seasonal dishes
Depending on the time of year, the Restaurant Rustica in the beautiful Bernese Oberland offers dishes to match the particular season. In the autumn, for example, we serve:
- Pumpkinseed mousse with fillet of wild hare
- Pheasant and Chanterelle mushroom terrine
- Cèpe mushroom ravioli with a cream sauce
- Strips of tender game in a cream sauce
- Escalope of venison with forest mushrooms in a cream sauce
- Chamois stew
- Fillet of venison
Fish dishes
We are the first restaurant in the Bernese Oberland to offer sturgeon on our menu. This is fresh and comes from the nearby tropical hothouse and fish farm in Frutigen. The Restaurant Rustica has been awarded the symbol of the Golden Fish Society and is well-known for its whole cooked fish and tasty fish dishes. We are proud to serve:
- Fried tranche of sturgeon with mushrooms and mussels
- plate – with a selection of fried/grilled fish
- Mini-fillets of perch fried in beer batter
- Sautéed fillet of locally caught lake fish
- Fillet of trout
A house speciality is our sturgeon platter. We would be delighted to prepare a sturgeon platter for your next special celebration!
Meat dishes
The Rustica has a wide selection of different meat dishes with a choice of side dishes. In particular, we would like to recommend:
- Escalope of pork in a cream sauce
- Saddle of lamb
- Beef fillet goulash
- Medallions of pork with Calvados sauce
Vegetarian dishes & home-made pasta
For our vegetarian guests, there are special meat-free meals. We also recommend our freshly-prepared, home-made pasta. We would like to suggest:
- Risotto with mushroom ragout
- Tortellini three-coloured pesto
- Home-made Cèpe mushroom ravioli
- Thai noodles with tofu, egg and vegetables
