Excursion ideas
The Hotel & Restaurant Rustica is ideally located for a variety of excursions into the beautiful and fascinating Bernese Oberland. In summer, the region offers a large network of marked and maintained footpaths to delight lovers of nature and walkers, as well as places of interest. In winter, the ski areas of nearby Adelboden can be easily reached by car or public transport.
Blausee – The Blue Lake
Stroll along the romantic paths which pass through the nature reserve and visit the unique, organic Alpine trout farm. The local restaurant makes a perfect place to enjoy some refreshment and soak up the atmosphere.

Lake Oeschinen
Take a walk over Alpine meadows and through magical pine forests. Relax by Lake Oeschinen when you arrive. The summer dry toboggan run is great fun!
Niesen – the Swiss pyramid
Ride the steepest nostalgia mountain train in Europe to the summit of Niesen at 2336m / 7660 ft. above sea level. From here, the breathtaking views of the Alpine mountain ranges are simply stunning.
Lake Thun
Take a pleasant lake cruise on the nostalgic steam ship and let the views of the highest peaks in the Bernese Oberland work their own magic.
Elsigenalp / Metschalp
In summer these two Alpine regions are inviting places for a mountain hike. In winter, both Elsigenalp and Metschalp are small but high-quality ski areas.
Adelboden - hiking and skiing region
The hiking and skiing region of nearby Adelboden offers a wide range of ski pistes for all abilities, cross-country ski trails, romantic walking routes and friendly mountain huts offering food and drink.
Kiental
The Kiental Valley lies at the foot of the beautiful Blümlisalp and is the starting point for high altitude hiking and mountain tours. In winter, snow sports can also be enjoyed here.

Treat your body or your soul to a workout and enjoy a day at the Multisport and Wellness Centre in Frutigen. It is only five minutes on foot from our hotel.
